Some may tire of the parallels continually drawn between current governments and George Orwell’s “1984”.
You know who doesn’t tire of them?
Government.

So the next time one of our new geniuses scoffs at the implication of similarities between “1984” and the present day whims of our governments, asking “where are the giant screens with the guy on them and the plain drab clothing?”, we only need remind ourselves of the slogan of the Ministry of Truth – “Ignorance is Strength”, and bow concededly to one of our new masters…
